7.1 Staff number stands at 94 including 4 offi cers specifically assigned for Care or Protection representations, 5 officers and 2 secretaries specifically assigned for CAT Scheme cases. The increase was barely adequate to meet the routine demands on the Service. It provided no margin for dealing with any non routine events such as staff sickness or study leave.

7.2 In lieu of the suspension of the Annual function since 2003 due to the budget constraints, annual staff dinner was generously hosted by members of the Duty Lawyer Service Council out of their own resources for the staff of the Service since 2006.
