New Legislations and subsidiary legislations concerning National Security Law in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region were enacted on 30 June 2020 by the National People’s Congress Standing Committee. These new legislations which apply to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region criminalised certain acts under the four main categories of:

(a) secession,
(b) subversion,
(c) terrorist activities,
(d) collusion with foreign country or with external elements to endanger national security

by listing them under Instrument 5 as Annex III of the Basic Law.
